Albert Transportation Inc.

Hirschbach is a privately owned carrier headquartered in East Dubuque, Iowa. It offers refrigerated, dedicated, and specialized services from the Midwest to and from the south and northeast. Mesilla Valley Transportation
Located in Las Cruces, New Mexico, and El Paso, Texas, MVT specializes in time-sensitive service between major manufacturing areas in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. The fleet consists of 1,200-plus trucks and 5,000-plus trailers. MTV was the first fleet to apply trailer skirts to 100 percent of its trailers. MVT has been an EPA SmartWay partner since 2008 and multiple SmartWay Excellence Award recipient.
Nussbaum was founded in 1945 and offers truckload services for 48 states. Headquartered in Hudson, Illinois, it uses late model trucks. The average age of a Nussbaum truck is 2.5 years and the average age of its trailers is 4 years. The company offers driver incentives focused on fuel-efficient performance. Nussbaum has been an EPA SmartWay partner since 2008.
PepsiCo’s Frito-Lay Division
PepsiCo’s Frito-Lay Division is the seventh largest commercial fleet in the U.S. Headquartered in Plano, Texas, it has 22,000 vehicles, from cargo vans to Class 8 tractor-trailers. In 2011 it started adding CNG vehicles to its fleet. This tractor for Run On Less is a diesel. The company says it has reduced its diesel fuel use by more than 30 percent from 2008 to 2015. EPA SmartWay partner since 2004 and multiple SmartWay Excellence Award recipient.
Ploger was founded in 2006 with one tractor, and today has 40 tractors and 100 trailers, both van and flatbed. It is headquartered in Norwalk, Ohio, and while it started as a regional carrier, its territory has expanded to the continental U.S. It specializes in food-grade hauling.
US Xpress, Inc.
US Xpress is the second largest privately held truckload carrier with 7,000 tractors and 15,500 trailers. Headquartered in Chattanooga, Tennessee, it offers coverage throughout North America. US Xpress has been named best Carrier Partner by EPA SmartWay twice. The company describes itself as “conscientious stewards of both public safety and the environment.” US Xpress has been an EPA SmartWay partner since 2004.
