Wegmans was started in 1916 and today has 110+ grocery stores and more than 53,000 employees. Once fully reliant on diesel, 76% of its heavy-duty trucks now operate on compressed natural gas or electricity. With 197 compressed natural gas trucks, Wegmans is on its way to achieving a diesel-free fleet by the end of 2026. It also operates 17 electric yard tractors between its three service centers.
