NACFE Is Going “Back to the DEPOT”

As you know, we are in the middle of planning for Run on Less – Messy Middle. But that does not mean other work at NACFE stops. So, while we are busy planning site visits to the 13 Run on Less – Messy Middle fleets, we also are going back and having conversations with the 10 fleets that participated in Run on Less – Electric DEPOT. In case you’ve forgotten who they are, here’s a list:
- Frito-Lay in Queens, NY
- OK Produce in Fresno, CA
- Penske in Ontario, CA
- PepsiCo Beverages in Sacramento, CA
- Performance Team in Commerce, CA
- Purolator in Richmond, BC
- Schneider in South El Monte, CA
- UPS in Compton, CA
- US Foods in La Mirada, CA
- WattEV in Long Beach, CA
We are chatting with executives at each of these fleets to talk about the lessons they learned by participating in the Run and also to find out about new developments since we last visited them in 2023. Time really flies, that was almost two years ago!
So far we’ve published Back to the Depot reports on three fleets: Purolator, Schneider and Penske and we will continue posting articles until all 10 have been profiled again. The fleets have been very candid about their successes as well as about areas in which they have struggled.
We undertook this project because we wanted to be able to share the lessons these fleets learned as they scaled up from one or two trucks at a depot to 15 or more. One depot had 92 eCascadias.
The updates are a quick read but are filled with lots of useful information, so I encourage you to spend a few minutes reading them to see if there are any key takeaways that can help you on your fleet’s electrification journey.
